First Noach sent out a black bird, a raven. The raven came back: not a dry patch of land, not a tree, nowhere. Later Noach sent out a dove. And the dove returned — with a little twig in her beak! Then Noach knew: trees were growing on the earth again.
Do you remember the last parashah? Hashem made the trees then. Now the dove is looking for one.
